25 Weeks

25 Weeks

What a week! It was a long travel week for both Dave and I.  Dave headed to Cali for his last week in San Fran and I went to Missouri Wednesday for work and then Indy Thursday and Friday for more work.  Work traveling is starting to wear on me more than I expected, and walking trade show floors - me feet were so soar after three hours.

The biggest news of all though happen on Friday night, my bestie Britini and her husband welcomed Hope Michelle Wilkens to the world.  She decided to join us early by about 16 weeks.  Britini is recovering well and every day Hope gets a stronger.  We are continuously praying for them and their little angel. Today I went to drop off a goodie bag for Brit at the hospital and got to visit with her a little bit.  She is such an amazing woman and so strong, I admire her strength so much!

This weekend Dave and I worked on installing the closet in Baby Girls room.  It was quite the task and we finally figured out a way for us to do home projects together, we don't talk to each other :) We also hosted our friends Larry and Paula and their daughters Rosie and Caroline over for brunch.  It was so great to see them and get some good baby practice!

The before and after

I also received my shower invitation in the mail that my friends Kara and Rena are throwing for me.  The invitation is so pretty and I'm so excited for the event on June 8th.  Just one more thing that makes this all feel so real!

Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER!!!  6 months down!!! I can't believe it's already been 24 weeks, it doesn't seem like enough time has past. Dave and I hit the 10 yr mark this week, April 16th 2004 was when it all began.  Started out this week with a Dr's appointment that went very well!  Everything looks good, Baby Girl's heartbeat was 153 and my stomach is measuring at 24 inches. I also got a fair warning for the 28 week appointment which is the glucose test, hopefully I'll pass.

24 Weeks

Life brings us lots of fabulous moments but it also tests us all the time.  As an only child my friends are like family to me, especially my bestie, and I just want to take a moment to send lots and lots of love to her! You are an amazing strong woman and I love you so so much!

Throwback pic of me and my bestie!

Dave is winding down on his west coast project, but made sure to buy me a little treat before his last week out there. What a cute diaper bag he surprised me with!

We've been trying to kick it into high gear and get as much done as possible. We got a new desk and chair this week since we are losing our office set up.  We started to rearrange our living room to make space for the new pieces - we are still getting used to the new set up, but the only other big change in here will be moving the gray couch into the room and getting rid of the green one.

We also got some good shopping down this weekend as well. Starting with another trip to Ikea to get everything we need to organize Baby Girl's closet. They actually make it pretty easy to do yourself - installation will be a next weekend project.  We also stocked up her closet a little bit more, since I can't really buy for myself right now I mine as well make her super adorably styled!

every girls needs a little Ralph Lauren

23 Weeks

Baby Girl is the size of a grapefruit at 23 weeks and moving up a storm.  Dave was home all this week and I was on the road, go figure.  We can't get our work schedules to sync, but he finally felt her moving around in there which was such a cool moment.

23 Weeks

We had a very busy week between me traveling for work and a lot of plans that Dave made for us over the weekend.  I came home mid week to an adorable purchase that Dave had made for Baby Girl.

We had so much fun getting together with some of Dave's Booze buddies on Friday night and then some of the Kellogg crew on Saturday.  The weather this weekend was beautiful Dave played his first round of gold with JT and Dan and while he did that Brisco and I took a great walk around the pond and park.

Booze Buddies

Still trying to make progress on the nursery, however this week's busy schedule slowed me down.  We did get a wallpaper swatch and put up some larger paint swatches on the wall to hopefully narrow down the color palette.

22 Weeks

Well I got my first stranger congratulating me this week... no hiding the bump these days! I'm starting to get stir crazy in this weather, Chicago has had the worst winter in 30 years and I'm over it.  We finally made our arrangements for our babymoon! We are headed to Charleston, SC and are so excited to lay on the beach, relax and explore the city.  Counting down the days till we are there... 35 days to go.  Baby Girl is the size of a Papaya this week and is a mover and shaker in there.  It seems like she's going to be a night owl like us, I guess no surprise there.

22 Weeks

We've started to make some progress in the nursery.  We have a pretty clear theme for her room. We bought her crib this week, picked out the changing table/dresser, glider and have narrowed down the paint colors.  We also started emptying the "man cave" we almost have the closet cleaned out (on one side at least) :) A lot of which is now at your nana and papa's basement.... and your Auntie Jess came by this weekend and bought our bookshelf.  So happy that she was able to make it work for her place!

Dave and I had a nice date night out on Saturday at Summer House in Lincoln Park.  We are trying to hit a bunch of restaurants we've been wanting to try before Baby Girl makes her arrival.  Brisco was a happy boy this weekend too, he got in two really great walks around the pond and lake, praying this weather continues to improve.
