Memorial Day 2017

Daddy was out of town for Memorial Day weekend at a Bachelor party so Mommy decided to get out of the city.  I headed up to Barrington with babies in tow and Brisco and we had a suburb weekend full of pool fun, horses, running around Nana and Papa's yard and yummy dinners together.

Swimming with Gavin and Avery - Avery loves the kiddie pool at BHCC, she can do her own thing

Gavin loved it as well - like a big long bath

I love this photo - both of my babies have now slept in my old crib with my bedding from when I was a baby.

While Gavin napped in the morning, Avery and I went next door to see our neighbors horsies and feed them carrots and apples.  She loved being able to see their barn and feed them.  Our neighbor also let her open their stall doors and put out their hay for the day in the pastures.

Mommy and Papa went to the track for a quick race and Sweet Abigal WON - it was a great surprise to the day.

Per usual she was exhausted after a few days at Nana and Papa's house she snoozed the whole way home.

Gavin 7 Months/ May 2017

Mr. Gavin was 7 months old on 5/22/2017 - what a fun age! At 7 months Gavin has started to roll/army crawl to get where he wants to go. He is starting to sleep later in the morning usually waking up between 630-7am - Yay!

Gavin is all about making noise these days - he figured out how to push his lips together and blow out air which is really funny actually.

Everything goes in our mouth!

As long as he's eating he's a happy boy!

We have a lot of weddings to attend this year, but we kick off our year going to Siri Larsen and Evan Walsh's wedding at the Drake.  Nana and Papa as well as Aunt Jane were there too and we all had a wonderful time together.  I got a great photo of Nana and Daddy dancing together - so sweet.

Ballet continues for Avery every Saturday morning.  This is the door they walk through every week.  It's just the cutest place.

Gavin rolling over like a pro and starting to army crawl, which really started like a catepillar.

Avery is such a sweet big sis, she loves having Gavin around and showing him how to do things.

Crawling together

Not interested in napping

Mother's Day this year was particularly quiet.  We had a wedding the night before for one of mommy's co-workers so we took advantage of having a quiet Sunday at home.  Daddy had planned an adorable brunch and outing for the four of us, but Gavin's nap was starting to extend longer and we were both tired so we decided to just hang out as a family at home.  It doesn't matter what we do as long as we are all together!

For Daddy's birthday Mommy made a yummy reservation at a steak house, Maple and Ash and the big surprise was Daddy's best friend Ben joining us for dinner.  Dave had no idea that he was coming and was totally shocked when he walked in the door.

Later in the month Mommy and Daddy headed to Sedona, AZ for a wedding for Daddy's friends from business school.  It is the first time that we have left both kids without one of us home since Gavin was born.  Nana came to stay at the house and had a great time with the babies while we were gone.

Avery is becoming so much more social with kids especially making friends at the park.  She was adorable this day running and playing with these little girls.

Gavin's first time sitting in the grass - he was frozen and unsure of it

Easter 2017

Easter this year was the four of us at home having a casual celebration.  The day before I was so excited to have Avery dye eggs because this is probably the first year she would fully understand the process of dying eggs and then searching for them the next morning and boy did she love it.  I have so many cute videos of her dipping the eggs.

Easter morning we all woke up to enjoy opening our easter baskets and then playing with our toys, and the filler for Gavin.  After that we went egg hunting and boy did Avery love it - Found one!

Later that morning we went to our neighborhood breakfast spot, John's place and enjoyed brunch together outside because the weather was so warm.

As passover approached we hosted a small dinner with our friends the Gottlieb's who are also a dual family.  We did our best to make it traditional, I think it will be easier and easier as the kids get older.

Avery and Jake are so cute together playing and sharing a PB&J
