Avery 22 Months & Father's Day

Our little peanut isn't so little anymore.  22 months is here and she is full of energy and opinions. Avery has become more and more interested in taking on tasks herself.  She loves to help in the kitchen cooking whatever we are making in that moment.  She also likes to get all her plates and cups herself and take them to the table.  We have started using a booster seat at the table instead of our highchair which she thinks is so fun to sit with mommy and daddy for dinner. Avery is starting to only like to walk everywhere and not use her stroller or car to ride.  She will usually walk all the way to the park and back herself, she's walked home from Gymboree and swim class too.

We have started to have dinner later in the afternoon, we have found that you eat a little bit better when you wait longer.  It's also allowed us to eat more dinners together as a family and go out together more which has been a nice change.  You still are a rather picky eater - which still makes me so sad since you used to eat anything we put in front of you.  BBQ sauce is the answer to challenges sometimes and you will always eat tomatoes and peas however trying to get new things in has been a challenge.  Mommy has started making smoothies with spinach and other veggies in hopes you'll drink them throughout the day.

This month Avery started her new soccer class at Lil Kickers.  It's adorable, her class is 18-24 mo olds and she loves every minute.  They do a variety of exercises getting kids comfortable with a soccer ball, working on listening skills from their coach and there are maybe two drills a class. Plus adorable uniforms.

Father's day was on June 19th and we were looking forward to making it very special for Daddy and Papa.  Avery was super excited to help make Daddy's breakfast that day.  We made his favorite, peanut butter chip pancakes with bacon, sausage and fruit.  Avery was such a great su chef, she helped mommy stir the batter and place the peanut butter chips on all the pancakes.

Daddy was so surprised!

Present time

Daddy got a new drill, a scottie dog pocket square, a frame for his desk from Avery and concert tickets

That afternoon we headed up to Barrington to see Nana and Papa and celebrate with them.  While Papa and Daddy played golf Avery, Mommy and Nana went to the pool.  You had so much fun swimming we completely skipped your nap which you were fine with. Any time we tried to take you out of the pool you had a fit.

You had so much fun on Father's day you didn't want to leave Nana and Papa's house.  After dinner we packed up the car and got ready to go, however we didn't anticipate your 30 minute jog around the drive way - which ended up being hilarious to watch. by the time we got you in the car it was 8pm and you were asleep in 10 minutes.
