Fourth of July 2017

Fourth of July weekend is here! Finally it feels like summer and we have a nice long weekend to enjoy together as a family.  We kicked off the holiday weekend with a family day at our favorite beach Foster Beach.

Avery and Mommy in the water

We got this great tent to provide some shade for the baby and also hopefully lessen the amount of sand he would eat that day.  Not sure how well we did on sand consumption but it was at least not super sunny for him.

Snack time - Gavin's first time eating from a pouch

This did not go so well - the water was cold and he was not happy

That night The Debias family came over to have a BBQ and let the kids all meet baby Sam.  He is four months younger than Gavin and I know they will be best buds as they get older!

Avery wanted to swim so badly and apparently that meant naked swimming.  How nice for our guests. :)

She also couldn't have been sweeter with the little boys.  She wanted to take a picture with them and made sure no one fell down.

The boys

The next day we had our annual Fourth of July BBQ with our IU crew.  This year was a little different because we had so many more babies in the mix.  There were 7 kids at the party this year!!!

We filled up the pool and let the babies splash around all afternoon! It was a hit and they had so much fun. Auntie Kara ended up spending the night with Liddy and Webster and it was so fun to have them around in the morning to join us for our Starbucks walk with the doggies.

On Monday we headed up to Nana and Papa's house for the rest of the weekend to enjoy some relaxing time in the suburbs.   Brisco did not want to miss a crumb from Avery and was all in her business after she had her snack.

We took Avery to her first fireworks - it ended up being a big fail because some loud music scared her and she wouldn't stop crying.  We watched them from the car as we drove away.  However she did have fun up until that moment.

On Tuesday the 4th we took Avery to the parade in Barrington with Nana while Daddy's stayed back with Gavin while he napped.

After nap time we all got ready and headed over to BHCC for the annual 4th fun! Avery is old enough to really enjoy all the activities they have now.  Gavin needs a little more time but he had fun dancing to the music and eating.

Rachel is so great at coming up with cute activites - right before the 4th she decided to have Avery make a fireworks painting.  It was such a hit they did it the week after too with different colors. So cute
