After Christmas we started to get ready to go to Florida, we are really liking our winter getaway trip makes the last few cold days worth it!
Gavin and Avery holding hands
Papa and Avery getting ready to get on the plane
Brisco was so much better this flight - being able to move around helped a lot
Gavin and Nana
Day one was all about the beach! Gavin's first beach trip!!
Luckily Nana and Papa saved a lot of stuff from Avery so we had baby items at the house.
Avery loved swimming in the pool, some days even her swim suit was overrated.
Nana and Papa rented bikes while we were there and Avery and Daddy went on lots of bike rides.
First time Gavin had his toes in the sand.
On New Years we went to Bayside for dinner - which ended up being not as relaxing as years past. We found out quickly that dinner with two little ones was much more difficult. Gavin also was going through a I don't like the car, carseat, restaurants or anything but being held phase. It made for some interesting dinners.
So happy with Nana
Avery, Daddy and Papa went on a boat ride
Sand angels were so fun to make but for sure a Daddy activity
We had to make sure that we stopped by our favorite gelato spot in Bonita Bay... there was also a live band at the bar that night, Avery had fun dancing!
Daddy headed back to Chicago after almost two weeks in Florida and Mommy, Avery and Gavin stayed for another week. The day Daddy left it was raining so we decided to go to the Naples Children's Museum. We went last year but it was even more fun for Avery this year.
It was so nice to have some time with my parents and the kids. Since my maternity leave is extended this time around i'm really enjoying all these special moments.
We had lots of walks to the park and playground. We also made sure to have our nightly visit with our favorite bunny family.
Morning snuggles with my babies. We started to get a great routine while we were there, I would nurse Gavin in my room every morning while Avery watched something on her Ipad and we got lots of cuddles in. Gavin also started extending his length of sleep while we were in FL, some nights he didn't get up till 5am (4a Chicago time) which was such a great treat) Also nice since Dave was gone I was handling all things kiddo's.
The trip wasn't going to be complete till we got Gavin in the water. We put his cute swim trunks on and hopped in. He absolutly loved swimming with mama - just like his baths the water was nice and warm and calming!
I was a little nervous about traveling home since while we were in Florida Gavin's i hate the carseat phase was in full effect. However in true baby fashion he surprised me and was so great on the way to the airport and the whole flight. He slept most of the way home and when he wasn't sleeping he was sitting quietly. Avery was also a great traveler. She watched her ipad the whole way home and laid on Mommy and Rachel.
After three weeks we were sad to leave Nana and Papa as well as the nice warm Florida weather, but also happy to get home and get Gavin started on a solid routine.
