Avery 23 Months

31 Days till miss Avery is 2 years old!! How did that happen?  What a fun summer it has been so far, Avery has been enjoying every minute.  Every weekend we've attended both soccer and swim class, we've gone up to swim at Nana and Papa's club, we've had a lot of trips to the park and started playing  in the water fountain there.  She's enjoyed her summer camp class with Emma and weekly playdates now that Emma is back in town - with trips to the zoo, park and in the neighborhood.

1 Month to go till i'm 2!

Camp at LPP has been especially fun for Avery - it has put her in a different environment than she's been used to.  More children to socialize with, teachers to listen to and daily activities, always outdoors.  Since beginning the sessions Rachel has noticed a huge difference in her comfort being around other children and her ability to play and interact with them.  We are so happy she has enjoyed it so much.

We've been making such a bigger effort to go out to dinner as a family.  We want Avery to understand the difference and also understand how we behave at dinner.  She is always so good and easily entertained when we are out together.  This night after we visited a friends wedding reception we went to Volare together.

Avery and Emma are regulars at the park and zoo on a weekly basis. They had just filled up the sandbox this particular week, which made for lots of fun climbing up and down.

This month as incredibly hard for us as a family.  Our beloved Abigail had to be laid to rest after a battle with cancer.  She was the most amazing dog, one who we are lucky to have been able to have in our lives for 9 years.  She loved unconditionally and was the best addition we could have asked for.  While she's in doggy heaven now, we are reminded of her daily and she is looking down loving us from above.  I initially found Abby and brought her home for my Mom 9 years ago, and wanted to be there on her last day with us as a family when we put her down.  It was incredibly emotional for us, we are not normal dog people - they become a member of our family so it is truly a great loss we are feeling.

Hard to not post this photo - Look at that tushy

Nana celebrated her 70th birthday on July 24th!!! This year has been full of big birthday's for our family.  While we were coming off the loss of the dog, and Papa's big shoulder surgery, i thought it might be a good change of pace to get them out of the house and go out to dinner.  We spent the day swimming at the pool and that night. we went to BHCC for dinner with Wickstroms and Nelson's.  Avery joined us but didn't want to blow out the candles with Nana that night.

The next night, Nana and Papa came downtown for an adults only dinner.  We went to North Pond right by Mommy and Daddy's old condo and had a wonderful time together celebrating.
