Christmas is always our favorite time of year. So many exciting things to do together as a family. We rolled into Christmas weekend very excited for some surprise visitors, Aunt Linda and Uncle Dennis decided to surprise Nana and Papa for the holiday. We all headed up to Barrington for the big surprise but not before Avery wrote her note to Santa.
Following the big surprise we headed out to dinner at D&J Bistro for Jane's birthday dinner. We had a great night and the kids were great and so well behaved for a long dinner.
The day everyone made their way to the city for the start of Christmas weekend. Our first activity was decorating Christmas cookies and Gingerbread houses but we divided into teams and made it a competition. Everyone got really into it and had a great time with the kids.

The completed houses - Avery's won in the middle
Everyone opened the Christmas jammies together
With some many visitors we had to get creative with who slept where - Avery got to snuggle in mommy and daddy's room for two nights
On Christmas Eve we headed to our favorite place Eataly to buy Italian treats for dinner, the kids had a great time walking around and everyone enjoyed seeing the store.
Christmas Eve it also snowed big time so Avery and Daddy bundled up to play in the snow that afternoon.
We had a beautiful Italian dinner everyone enjoyed themselves. Afterward we got ready for Santa getting our cookies and milk and reading the Night Before Christmas with Papa - he made a special book for you.
There was only one gift left for everyone to put together and that was the little kids table, each elf got either a chair or table to assemble.
They loved it Christmas morning.
